John Wall & Rockets working to find trade

        John Wall, the former five time all star and all defensive selection back in 2017 with the Wizards, has agreed with the Rockets to find a trade for him before the start of the season. Wall and the Rockets have mutually agreed to find a trade for the soon to be 12 year veteran because both parties believe a bench role wouldn’t be beneficial for either party as the Rockets are looking to grow with their young, thrilling backcourt in Kevin Porter Jr and number 2 pick Jalen Green, along with Turkish stud Alpren Sengun, Arizona State’s Josh Christopher, and Usman Garuba from Spain.

Wall is due $91.7 million over the next two seasons, including a player option of $47.4 million for the 2022-23 season. Wall has sadly been limited to just 113 games over the last four seasons due to an array of injuries, from surgeries on his knees, to a torn achilles that cost him the whole 2019-20 season. The once blistering, electric, rabbit-like speed that Wall had earlier in his career isn’t the same at this stage of his career due to all the injuries he’s unfortunately accumulated over the last few years.

Wall averaged 20.6 points and 6.9 assists in 40 games for the Rockets last season and is now looking to get traded with rumors out there that teams such as the Los Angeles Clippers, Dallas Mavericks, and Detroit Pistons are interested in Wall’s services, among others. Will he be able to make an impact on a contender like the Clippers? Or is he just another star player who won’t have an opportunity to play on the biggest stage? We will have to wait and see.
